The Future Sucks

We all know that the future sucks, well maybe for not all of you. It’s the reason why I actually had a mental breakdown a few minutes ago. However, during my emotional stress, I got a sort of epiphany that made me write this. I feel that I am incapable of being good enough for myself, others, and the world. That I may fail and be unsuccessful in the real world.

The future sucks because it’s scary. There is nothing scarier than uncertainty, they said. One of the trivial examples is getting a present box waiting for you to open it, whether it’s from the chimney guy, aka Santa,  or the  gift that you received from your childhood bully that wants to make you suffer in April Fools.

I always imagined what it would be like if I could just manipulate time. Stop it, rewind it, or even fast forward. How cool and relieving would that be?

We are always demanded by our closest people, a guy we watch on the internet, or your teachers to become successful with enormously high confidence, have many friends as much as you can, and be rich. Sometimes I see it as a ridiculous thing to keep in mind, cause humans are not that perfect, right?

But as I grow older, and seeing other people’s accomplishments through the vast alternate universe called the internet  really changed my perspective. And because of that, I repeatedly doubt myself, even till now, minutes ago, in front of a mirror.

I read the newest blog post from reasonandmeaning.com with the title “How close you can be to another person?” and the writer said that the number rating of closeness towards oneself can be from the range 0 to 10. And the statement that stays with me the most is that many people would argue that they have a “10”, being the highest, relationship rating with their own self. However this opinion actually is not entirely true.

He mentioned that humans are always stuck in self-deception. They are constantly being irrational and clueless when it comes to relationships with themselves. And a not surprising but important fact is that others most often know you better than you know yourself.

Probably a thing that I’d like to remind you is that not anything is going to be permanent, but your thoughts can. So, don’t be scared about the future (I actually have to remind myself of this) because like it or not, we are just tiny little beings that really don’t play an important role in the universe. We just got to change our negative thoughts and basically fuck it.

To add up, the previous statement that John Messerly, the writer of reasonandmeaning.com, wrote about us being the most clueless about our own self should have made us realize that there are strengths and talents that we actually possess that other people can see, excluding ourselves. Heck, you’re probably someone’s successful person 🙂
